City Craft
Bees, Trees and the Good Honeys
The Festival’s annual celebration of our hard-working City bees!
A celebration of City honey (the year four harvest from the Festival beehives on buildings around the Square Mile) with a focus on honeys deriving from tree varieties such as eucalyptus, acacia, beech, linden and orange, celebrated with music, poetry and tastings.
Bronze Art Medal Project / Festival Arts Award
The ancient practice of foundry brought into secondary schools
A series of double-sided bronze art medals created by secondary students from the City of London Academy Southwark, with designs inspired by one of the 2013 Festival's theme of Conflict & Resolution. Supported by the Worshipful Company of Founders, the medals are exhibited in the City during the Festival and form part of the students' GCSE coursework and assessment. Two designs from the Foundry project are chosen to create the Festival Arts Award medal, which is presented to students who have best applied themselves to the various Festival's education projects.
