No festival in the country has a greater wealth of outstanding venues at its disposal than the City of London, with all the churches, guild halls and open spaces of the Square Mile available for concerts, lectures and outdoor events.Andrew Clements, The Guardian, 2011
One of the joys of the City of London Festival is its ability to uncover such more or less hidden gems, and then fill them with music.Nick Kimberley, Evening Standard, 2011
The City of London is rich with wonderful buildings and spaces, both ancient and modern, which makes the Square Mile such a unique place to be. The Festival is lucky enough to gain access to buildings which often remain closed to the public. Magnificent venues like Mansion House, Goldsmiths' Hall, Merchant Taylors' Hall and St Paul's Cathedral, as well as the more intimate City churches, are all Festival venues during the summer months.
The Festival also enjoys events in the outdoors, with favourite spots like Guildhall Yard, Paternoster Square, New Street Square and Hampstead Heath amongst the sixty venues we use each year.
The City of London is well-served by excellent public transport links, and we encourage our audiences to use public transport to attend events. Event listings give details of the nearest tube and rail stations to each venue, and you can plan your journey here
