St Andrew-by-the-Wardrobe

Queen Victoria Street
London
EC4V 5DE

St Andrew's derives its name from its proximity to a building where King Edward III moved his state robes and other effects from the Tower of London in 1361. The church then became associated with the Great Wardrobe, as this building became known. Redesigned by Christopher Wren after the Great Fire of London, and destroyed again in World War 2, the church was rebuilt and rededicated in 1961.
