Guildhall Old Library

Guildhall
Gresham Street
London
EC2

The Guildhall Library was built in 1870-1872, designed by Sir Horace Jones. The Library was re-founded in 1824 and from 1873 to 1974 was housed in what is now termed the Old Library. It is spacious and light, thanks to the magnificent stained glass Caxton Window to the north. The Old Library features two galleries, which are purely ornamental.
