The Magic Tombolinos
Middle-Eastern, Latin, and gypsy influences dominate the music of this sax and accordion fronted quintet, and together with a lot of jazz, a pinch of punk and a taste of tango they play with fire and fury. Stoke Newington is home for the band, which is made up of musicians from Argentina, Portugal, Italy, and Costa Rica: ‘Hybridity seems to be the new authenticity,’ says Alejandro Toldeo and that definition is what makes the sound of the Magic Tombolinos so deeply authentic.
