30 St Mary Axe, better known as The Gherkin, stands 180m above the City. Since its opening in 2004, the building, designed by Lord Foster, has since won prestigious awards, including the RIBA Stirling Prize. The Gherkin is one of the most prominent features of London’s skyline and has become an icon of the City’s financial district.
